Welcome to Runscendence. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have complete control over your fitness and nutrition data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.
2. Information We Collect
To provide you with personalized AI coaching, route tracking, and nutritional analysis, we collect the following types of information:
- Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your email address and name to create and secure your profile.
- Location Data (Foreground and Background): We collect your precise location data using GPS. Runscendence requires Background Location access to track your running routes, calculate distance, and provide real-time audio coaching even when the app is closed or your device screen is locked.
- Health & Fitness Data: We collect data regarding your running metrics (pace, distance, pedometer/accelerometer data for treadmill workouts), estimated calorie expenditure, and personal training goals.
- Camera & Image Data: If you use our nutritional features, the app requires access to your camera and photo library. We collect the images you capture (e.g., meals, ingredients) to provide nutritional estimates and recipe generation.
- Dietary & Nutritional Data: We store your meal logs, macronutrient breakdowns, and recipe history to chart your nutritional progress.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your data strictly to operate and improve the Runscendence experience:
- To track your running routes and provide real-time AI audio coaching.
- To calculate your fitness metrics and generate holistic training and meal plans.
- To analyze images of food using AI to estimate macronutrients and suggest recipes.
- To provide visual dashboards of your training and nutritional progress.
4. Third-Party Services & Data Processing
To power our advanced features, we securely share specific data with trusted third-party service providers. We do not sell your personal data.
- Cloud Infrastructure & Database: Your account information, workout logs, and meal histories are securely stored using cloud hosting and database providers.
- Artificial Intelligence Services: To generate dynamic coaching and analyze food images, anonymized data and user-uploaded images are processed by third-party AI APIs (such as OpenAI/Gemini). These providers do not use your personal data to train their public models.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your data only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services.
Your Right to Delete: You have the right to request the complete deletion of your data at any time. You can instantly permanently delete your account, including all GPS traces, meal logs, and profile data, directly within the app by navigating to the "Danger Zone" in the Settings menu.
6. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures, including secure SSL/TLS encryption for all data transmissions between your device and our servers, to protect your personal and fitness information from unauthorized access.
7. Children's Privacy
Runscendence is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child, we will take steps to delete that information immediately.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy periodically. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy or through an in-app notification.
